CWC Roundup

I very much enjoyed last week's challenge. The colour palette chosen this time reflects my winter wear this year. I spent many a day dressed in grey & red, I guess I can put it down to my lovely grey coat with red buttons which has unintentionally been used as an inspiration. In my opinion, ten items of clothing to go through five days is a lot, there are many more possible combinations I could wear, the capsule would take me for at least another two or three days. I'm thinking the grey tunic tucked into the grey skirt, or my grey skinny jeans paired with the red sweater, or the grey skirt, the grey rollneck and the red ballerina wrap... still not done. I enjoyed checking other participants as well, there was a beautiful mixture of styles and tastes. I am only so slightly envious about the spring/summery weather Lorena is experiencing at this point, I could really do without the wrapping up in scarves and hats. I'd like to express my sincere thanks to Jane once again for inviting me to participate, and I'm looking forward to the next challenge!

CWC Outerwear

This has been my outside version this week. I am totally, utterly and completely in love with my grey coat, a birthday present from me to me, purchased on our trip to Bratislava. I instantly fell in love with the gorgeous red buttons, and the cut was absolutely stunning. What was more, it fit perfectly, so we were meant to be... After winning the silver medal for our singing, even my husband didn't need much persuasion from my part - the coat was mine!

The cap and mittens set was hand-made and embroidered by my Mum, I got it for my birthday eleven years ago when I was pregnant with my boy. It's my favourite winter gear, I wear it all the time. It has so many qualities that I like in a piece of clothing (or accessory, for that matter) - hand-made, not brand new (going on vintage with that one, almost...), embroidered, a gift from someone I love... and I think it's really pretty.

The red handbag was a Christmas present, another one from me to me - I knew it would go really well with the coat the moment I spotted it. The third picture from top was actually an accident but I quite liked it so here you go...

I very much enjoyed this capsule wardrobe challenge. Looking forward to the next one!

CWC Day Five

Items 4, 7, 9, 13 & 14 from the list.

- Matryoshka earrings - last year's birthday present
- watch - birthday present
- tights - Calzedonia

I think this is my favourite outfit of the five. I like the neutral grey which can be spiced up with any colour, really. I've chosen red this time but I really love grey with mustard, or green, or blue, or pink... The list is endless. I believe my favourite Laura Ashley scarf (on loan from my Mum) works great as an obi as well. Oh, the versatility of accessories!

CWC Day Four

Items 2, 3, 8 & 10 from the list.

- turquoise earrings - hand-me-downs from my Mum
- turquoise flower ring - seaside souvenir
- bird brooch - gift shop in the capital

I love red and turquoise. Don't they match perfectly? And always add a splash of colour to any outfit? I must say that I usually wear my turquoise jewellery in the summer months but this time I thought what the heck, I wore my Christmas brooch a couple of days ago, so why not some summery embellishments as well...

CWC Day Three

Items 1, 6, 9 & 13 from the list.

- earrings - Asian shop in the capital
- angel brooch - present from several years ago
- angel bracelet - birthday present
- tights - Calzedonia

Not much to add today, actually. I'm keeping it pretty simple this year, aren't I?

CWC Day Two

Items 2, 3, 6, 9 & 11 from the list.

- angel bracelet - birthday present
- Holly and Berries Brooch - Etsy (thank you so much, Vanessa!)

P.S.: Perhaps some explanation is due here - I realise Christmas was over quite a while ago but I think this Holly and Berries Brooch is far too cute to wear at Christmas only. I purchased it last year just before Christmas from the lovely and talented Vanessa (who writes an exceptional blog titled 'Do you mind if I knit') and have actually worn it quite a lot since, but as I haven't been blogging all that much (what an understatement) this is its debut here at Angels&Blossoms. Don't you think it's one of the most beautiful things ever? Which would be totally wasted if worn only a month a year? I'm sure you do :)

Monday 20 February 2012

CWC Day One

Items 5, 8, 10, 12 & 13 from the list.

- angel earrings - birthday present
- red corsage - Jysk
- watch - birthday present
- angel bracelet - birthday present

Happy Valentine's Day!

To all my blogging friends out there, I hope your day was filled with love and hugs and kisses and kind words and helpful gestures and silent glances of affection... perhaps a flower or two...

I'm so glad to know you!

Cath Love

Some of my absolute favourites from Cath Kidston's Spring Collection (and no, I'm not being paid for this, unfortunately...). I genuinely love her designs.

Don't you?

I'm Back!

Marysia'a angel, last year's birthday present

Right. I guess I needed that. It's been exactly a month since my last blog entry (and oh my, was it a quick and short one!) but apparently, life slows down after forty... :) I'm joking, you realise that, right? I can hardly find time to breathe these days. I have a camera full of pretty pictures - over two months old - and I still haven't managed to download them. I have every intention of blogging them at one point, though - last year's photos, how pathetic is that? There are some pretty ones among the lot, and I'd love to share them with you. Plus, in about a fortnight, my lovely fellow blogger Jane from The Small Fabric of my Life is organising another Capsule Wardrobe Challenge - I hope I can make it, I can't remember the last time I've posted an outfit! Nothing spectacular or worth mentioning on the outfit front anyway, I'm afraid, as we've been totally snowed in, pretty much like the rest of Europe (imagine an island in Dalmatia covered with snow... or St Peter's Square in Rome, all white... funny thing, this winter weather).

Anyway, I had a fabulous birthday, lots of absolutely gorgeous presents (angels and angels and angels...), yummy cake and splendid company. It's good to be forty, and I would like to thank all of you for the good wishes on my birthday, I'm awfully glad 'to have met you'!
