Meet Your Neighbours©

One of my many beautiful birthday presents this year,
from my big brother & his family!

My big bro is an avid nature photographer, he contributes to many renowned nature photography magazines, including National Geographic Slovenija, and he participates in a very interesting project, Meet Your Neighbours©. He knows all about my love for Scotland, and the first pic was taken especially for me :)

Thank you so much, I loved my present!

Five Things

I was going to do my usual "Three Things" post but with all the pretty things I got for Christmas and my birthday earlier this month I decided to add two more items to the list. There are many more lovely new things in my possession, of course / I'm afraid, but I had to draw a line somewhere ...

- a very pretty (and very pink) mug & plate set
from Accessorize

- another little angel for my bedroom wall

- a gorgeous warm scarf from Fraas

- yet another incredibly beautiful angel pendant

- and a yummy new leather purse from Joules!

Happy & grateful :)

Pink Birthday Surprise - By Post!

It's my friend's birthday today.

I made a little flower for her.

I hope the postman delivered it safely.

And I hope it put a little smile on her face.

Happy birthday, R.

P. S. : Card handmade by my little girl :)

Yarn Bombing Part II

Right, in my previous post I promised to tell you about my secret crochet project. Here's the thing: one of our best friends celebrated his 40th birthday last weekend. A group of friends had decided to present him with a new bike. Since there were two avid hookers (!) in the group, we decided to yarnbomb the vehicle!

I made the seat cover...

... and the handlebar covers,...

...each with a bunting flag.

The cross bar bunting was made by my good friend M.

The surprise present was exactly that -

- a lovely surprise!

How do you like the end result?

Daisies

I got this beautiful daisy chain ring from my husband for my 40th birthday last year. Daisies are my favourite flowers. We put dried daisies on our handmade (selfmade as well) wedding invitations, and fresh daisies (the large ones) were included in my wedding bouquet. They have a special place in my heart.

Which is why, oh my God, oh my God, I was absolutely thrilled when I saw this!!!

A bracelet to go with my precious ring! The only problem is, I'll probably have to wait for a decade... :)

Flowers For A Little Girl

The little girl of my husband's niece celebrated her second birthday last week. As an avid hooker (dear me, I never thought I'd say that about myself...) I decided to make an array of useful gifts along with some bits and bobs that she would find interesting (most mums of little girls know that birthday presents in the form of clothing are usually more appealing to the former!).

So, for the little toddler in the family I made:

- a Granny Square headband (a staple this spring)

- I embellished a simple white T-shirt with a bunch of tiny forget-me-nots

- Made a little skirt and embellished it with a pink blossom

The little girl's mum was happy!
And so was the birthday girl :)

A colourful Granny Square headband.

I hope she likes it.

It was made with love :)

Sunday Best

Better late than never- last Sunday outfit. It came together as I went along, starting with the lace skirt (in the middle of winter, I can't help it) and I was very much pleased with the final result. Sort of Russian-looking, isn't it? I guess the hat has its own say... Beware another photo overload!

Outfit details:

-  boots - Alpina (local brand)
- tights - home closet
- lace skirt - Labod (local brand); had it for ages!
- rollneck - Benetton (ditto!)
- jacket - local supermarket (would you believe it; several years ago, though)
- belt - local boutique
- fake fur hat - Barts
- leather gloves - M&S
- corsage - craft shop in the capital
- Liberty Wiltshire scarf (barely seen) - Etsy (AliceCaroline)
- angel pendant - this year's birthday present from my little girl
- bag - present from last Christmas, handmade

No sign of spring yet whatsoever :(
