Piran

For the last twenty years, we have been spending our summer holidays on the Slovenian coast.

It started soon after I'd met my then future husband

- he's got relatives living at the seaside

and they have been providing fabulous accommodation for our family

(and my parents and my brother's family for a while...) every summer since 1991.

We stay in the town of Portorose,

which is a typical holiday resort with lots of hotels and beaches.

But we always make sure to visit the nearby Piran,

an ancient little coastal town with gorgeous sights and historical monuments.

I absolutely adore it.
