A Lot Of Colour, And Then Some More

Our crochet cushions & seat covers.
Mostly inspired by Lucy's work.

The last two photos are of a seat which is in no need of a crochet cover. A treat to myself for my 40th birthday last year, from our local wood crafts boutique. Love at first sight!

My Working Space (Blogging Included!)

This is my working desk (I know, how can I possibly concentrate on my work with so much clutter around me, you're thinking) - I love it! I need colour in my life, it makes me so much happier!

All crochet work has of course been inspired by the wonderful Lucy from Attic24 who is an endless source of pretty colourful projects. Thank you so much, Lucy!

What is your office desk like? Are you an orderly person or is your desk full of clutter as well? Do share, please!

Of Cupcakes & PJs & Matching Hearts

We had a little celebration at church yesterday. My little girl officially became a member of a charity group for youngsters in our parish, and mums were asked to prepare something sweet for the do after mass.

I decided to make a batch of delicious vanilla cupcakes, and since my little girl was 'our family cause' for the celebration the icing had to be pink :) It's my girl's favourite colour, naturally.

Because we all know that I love colour I had to sprinkle some hundreds-and-thousands on top of the cakes to make them slightly more rainbow-like... Even if I say so myself, they were absolutely delicious!

Outfit of the morning: PJs and my trusty apron (Christmas gift from my cousin several years ago - so me!), and, of course, my boiled wool slippers with red heart applique - talk about matching patterns...

Nothing can beat icing cupcakes at 7am on a Sunday morning, can it?

Of Kilts And Hats

This morning's outfit, worn to church. I love my Pringles kilt, it's the warmest thing imaginable in the midst of this snowy winter. It's been a lovely day, though, cold but sunny. Delightful :)

Another thing I love is the mix of colours in this outfit. Despite the overall dark impression the colours are plentiful and the shades complement each other perfectly.

And behold colour coordination par excellence :)

Outfit details:

- boots - Alpina (local brand)
- tights - from my closet :)
- kilt - Pringles of Scotland
- rollneck - Boden
- cardigan - Boden
- jacket - Boden (what can I say, I'm a huge fan!)
- hat - Seeberger
- gloves - Etsy (helengraydesigns)
- angel necklace, brooch - gifted

Need any snow?

Keeping It Casual

With all the snow outside (and it's been snowing again today, yikes!) I don't really feel like dressing up, especially if I have nowhere particular to go - as I work from home I could spend all day in my PJs in front of my computer for all I care but I do like to put on some 'proper clothes' in the morning :)

This pair of skinny corduroys is lovely, soft and warm, but it comes with my 'usual problem' - I could fit two bottoms in the upper part and without the belt I would definitely lose my trousers! The legs fit perfectly fine though, thank you very much. So despite the baggy feeling I love to put them on!

The cardi is one of my favourite winter staples - it's from a Tulchan online sale several years ago. It's not too fitted so it doesn't really go well with skirts but with skinnies it looks great; not to mention how warm it feels (which is a very important piece of information in my book).

I totally adore the delicate embroidery on the front, and there's a little bit on the back as well - I forgot to take a picture of the pretty detail but if you know Tulchan knitwear you probably have an idea what I'm talking about.

This is how I get to be bundled up outside - oh so cosy and warm:

Outfit details:

- boots - Alpina (local brand)
- corduroys - Corazon
- quilted down coat - Corazon
- leather belt (on coat) - Jack Jones
- scarf - Tait&Style
- beret - Seeberger
- corsage (handmade) - crafts boutique in the capital
- cardigan - Tulchan
- top - Boden
- leather belt - H&M
- angel brooch - 10th wedding anniversary present from my husband
(this brooch sparked my totally insane angel collection!)

Have a lovely (almost) weekend!

Beanies Galore

I loved this post from the gorgeous Yen and since I'm a big fan of any head gear I'm doing a post on the topic as well! Great inspiration, thank you!

In winter, I actually never leave the house without my head covered. I'm always freezing so a hat or a beret or a beanie provide the necessary or additional warmth I need to get through the winter months. Which is why, of course, I have a lovely collection of this sort of accessories :) So, here we go:

1. an incredibly warm hand-made woollen beanie from a shop in the capital (the shop sadly closed a few months ago; it was a beautiful little thing but after a little more than a decade the owners decided they'd had enough); comes with a pair of matching mittens.

2. hand-knitted and -embroidered by my mum, for my birthday twelve years ago (when I was expecting my first-born); this one is my favourite; comes with a pair of matching mittens as well :)

3. Barts, from the local sports shop; I wear it on my daily walks/runs.

4. another one hand-made by my mum! I saw a similar thing in a magazine several years ago and asked her if she could make one for me; voila! It's actually even nicer than the original (which unfortunately is no longer available...).

5. and another one from Barts, same shop as above; same use as above as well, actually :)

So, this is it. I've got a few more in my 'beanie box' but I thought five was enough. And anyway, these are the most frequently worn, so it's only fair they get into the spotlight :)

Going Primary

With colours. I wore this to church yesterday. I was considering a red skirt at first but it seemed a little bit over the top. So I stuck with the yellow, blue & green - it all stays in the family!

I got the lovely yellow rollneck in the Boden sale - it's absolutely brilliant! I love the colour and the material is really nice; I have dozens and dozens of outfits in mind with this juicy pop of colour :)

I really like my new necklace as well, this year's birthday present from some very good friends of mine. They know me sooo well! And have I mentioned that the watch actually works? :)

My trusty heels - even in this dreadful weather!

And the outdoors version;
can't go more classic than this!

Outfit details:

- boots - Alpina (local brand)
- tight - no idea (found in closet)
- skirt - Joules
- rollneck - Boden
- cardi - Boden
- necklace - birthday present
- coat - Benetton
- scarf - Barbour
- hat - hand-me-down from my lovely mum
- tote - Barbour
- Harris tweed bumble bee - my lovely blogging friend Alison made it!

On My Wishlist: Spring

A little bit of spring in our house. I desperately need it. Because lately, all I have been seeing is...

... this...

... and this.

My daily fitness equipment since last Sunday:

To say that I don't like snow is a huge understatement.

The littles & their friends have been enjoying it ...

... but I just want to go somewhere where there's sunshine all year round. Any ideas?
