More Liberty

I had some fabric covered buttons made with the tiny little scraps of Liberty fabric I purchased from Etsy. I picked out patterns in blue and got fourteen adorable Liberty buttons.

I decided to make my M&S trench coat more 'springlike' - last autumn I embellished it with Harris Tweed covered buttons (thank you, Alison!) and I loved the result. For springtime, I've put on these beauties. Doesn't it look adorable?

I got the idea from Marie Claire Ideas magazine - they featured a gorgeous trench coat with Liberty buttons last autumn.

I ordered another lot of Liberty fabric this morning (Etsy again, a different seller this time). I'll keep you posted...

The Lake - Part Two

Last autumn I blogged about my favourite spot in our hometown. As winter was nearing, I was expressing my sorrow about not being able to 'walk my walk' or 'run my run' quite as often as desired.

Now that spring has finally arrived (about time, too, as it's the end of April!) I have had several opportunities to visit my favourite spot again. Different season, different images.

I posted some autumnal shots back then, and today, let me present some close-ups of the lake's lovely surroundings. God, I love this place!

Everything always looks so serene up here, even when the place is buzzing with people (the lake is very popular with fishermen from all over the country). And the impression I get from the place is usually transferred to my state of mind...

So I get a good workout plus inner peace. What more can I wish for?

Sing Lullaby

In the last week two sets of friends have welcomed a new life into the world. Two boys.
Boy number one was born last Thursday. Apart from his Mum and Dad, he was welcomed by a big brother (6) and two sisters (3,5 and 1,5 respectively).
Boy number two was born yesterday. Waiting for him at home are a sister (11) and a brother (9).
In addition to that, my husband turned forty-four on Sunday.
There was a lot of partying going on in this part of the world...
Spring has officially begun!

And this is a picture of my 'baby boy' about five years ago (visiting his baby-sister's play pen)...

Liberty Wishes

If there was a Liberty or a Target store somewhere closer to where I live

these would be the items that would come home with me.

I realise they're available on-line

but the p&p is so ridiculously expensive that I just don't bother.

Nice to do a bit of day-dreaming, though, wouldn't you agree?

Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Campers

Have I mentioned that I absolutely and utterly adore Camper shoes? Well, I do. I am a proud owner of three pairs so far (outlet stores, here I come!) and I love each and every pair.

They're extremely comfortable and I love the fact that each pair of shoes has a name. Unfortunately I'm not sure what the names of my Campers are. The pink pair is from the Peu range and the other two are from the Twins range, and that's about it as far as my knowledge goes.

I got the red pair on sale in the summer six years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. These were my very first Campers and at the time I thought they were so appropriate!

Which is your favourite pair?

I Love Colours!

Can't you tell? I didn't actually plan this outfit but I really liked how it came out - I love the fact how the colours all blend together in harmony even though they're all bright and contrasting.

At first I had second thoughts (don't you just LOVE the English language - first, second...) about wearing these tights. I bought them quite a while ago, they looked fabulous in the shop, but when I put them on there was nothing bright and cheerful enough in my closet to match them.

Enter my pink Tulchan cardi (which I've also had for a while but have never paired it with these tights before). I think it's a wonderful colour combination and from now on I'm sure the tights will see some more daylight...

Today I'm wearing:

flats - Boden (girls' range)
tights - Fabiani
skirt - ek jeans
yellow top - TwoWay
cardi - Tulchan
scarf - Oilily
coat - Boden
angel earrings, brooch, bracelets

Yay for another lovely and warm spring day (even though we've had a few showers). And boo for another round of plaster cast in our home - my boy has hurt his leg again!

Friends

Outfit from last Friday (missed the blogging then, sorry). Went to the capital with best friend. To visit another friend in hospital. Met yet another good friend who lives in London but is on holiday in Slovenia... Friends with a capital! Friends in the capital! Oh, lucky me!

When in the capital, I usually park my car on the castle hill so that I can have a lovely walk into the city. On the pics (taken by best friend) you can see the view from the castle hill - that's our capital, Ljubljana! It's a lovely gem of a city and you're all kindly invited to visit some time...

On me:

sneakers - Adidas
jeans - miss bonbon
tunic - Benetton
shirt - Nara Camicie
necklace - Kokoska (Slovenian brand)
bag - Barbour
angel pendant, earrings, bracelets...

On best friend:

coat - Desigual (isn't it absolutely gorgeous?)
jeans - no idea
flats - Camper

Off to bed now, it's late. Night night, see you tomorrow!

Going Green

My favourite colour! When I woke up in the morning I felt 'green' so I had to pull my green clothes out of the closet. Not that it presented a problem finding something green in there... I thought it would be only slightly over the top if I added green tights and flats and scarf so I opted for the contrasting bordeaux/purple. And mustard, of course (it's my top under the V-neck, neither of which can be seen properly, sorry; it didn't cross my mind to take the coat off, though...).

Today I'm wearing:

flats - Killah
tights - Polzela (local brand)
skirt - Kesidov
green V-neck - local shop
mustard top - Mana
skinny belt - H&M
scarf - Etsy (AliceCaroline)
coat - Boden

We had another lovely spring day, the sun was out and warm enough to wear my flats, yay! No boots, see?

Liberty Belle Blossom

I told you I had a thing for Liberty fabric. I was going through a book store in our capital the other day and I saw...her. I immediately spotted the Liberty Wiltshire print and in addition to that, the name on the tag said 'I am Liberty Belle Blossom'. Blossom! She was mine there and then.

She also reminded me of my wee girl a little bit. At first I thought the doll would be a wee something for her but she wasn't too impressed at the sight of her so I decided to keep her myself. I know what you're thinking... How old am I?

Now she lives in my bag or on my desk next to my computer. I wouldn't be me if I didn't add something of my own - a turquoise bracelet and a pink sash with a big bow at the back (to match the ribbons in her hair...). I think she's so cute!

A few days later I got another one, Liberty Belle Poppy, for a very good friend who's in hospital with a badly injured knee. In case you're wondering, she's about my age. A bit older, in fact. She loved the present! I got a bracelet and a sash for Poppy as well. Now my friend and I think of each other whenever we take a look at our dolls.

Soul sisters.

Hey Ho The Wind And The Rain

Well, something like that. Not much wind, but plenty of rain. Where is that spring again? I realise I'm getting a bit boring going on about the weather but honestly - I'm really desperate to wear a pair of sandals - no tights or socks, please!

I'm still wearing my boots, for Christ's sake. It's not that I don't love them madly, I still do, and they're the most comfortable pair of footwear I've ever owned, but you can't have cake every day, can you?

Or can you?

Today I'm wearing:

boots - Humanic
tights - Polzela (local brand)
skirt - Brora
rollneck - Dorothy Perkins
skinny belt - H&M
fake leather jacket
(or shal I say: faux leather jacket...) - Madonna
scarf - Benetton
corsage (hair clip, actually) - H&M

Is It Spring Yet?

I need to ask, as I'm not entirely sure. We had a gorgeous (almost summer) day on Friday, I even managed a couple of walks & runs around my beloved lake last week, and then...

It turned sour on Saturday! Back to winter temperatures, there was even some snow on top of the hill above the city! Who is the spring kidding???

Long time no see - an outfit pic. I have been living in my skinny jeans these days (read: weeks...) and I'm not sure it would be all that interesting to see the same item on the blog every single day. Then again... you might, from now on!

I bought this amazing fake leather jacket about a month ago - I totally adore it! I fell in love with it when I saw it in the shop window and decided to get it even though it seemed slightly out of my comfort zone (black, fake leather, biker-style jacket... to name but a few reasons against it). It proved me wrong, though, it's sooo my comfort zone, I wear it all the time (together with the jeans) and I feel great!

Today I'm wearing:

boots - Humanic (still here!)
jeans - miss bonbon
tunic - benetton
mustard top - TwoWay
scarf - Etsy (AliceCaroline)
jacket - madonna

Desperately Seeking Warm Weather!

Liberty Bracelet

Still warm! I've just made it! I know, it's Friday night, I should probably be doing something else (like... sleeping, perhaps?) but I have been waiting to craft this little beauty for a few days now.

I don't think I've told you before but I'm totally in love with Liberty fabric (as well as Harris Tweed...). Not many things are available in Slovenia made of Liberty fabric so thank goodness for the internet shopping! I've already purchased a couple of scarves from Etsy and I love them to bits. There are some other little things that I've got - I might write about them in a later post. I really envy all of you guys in Britain and America - the new Liberty for Target line is just adorable! They actually do deliver to Slovenia but unfortunately the shipping costs are so high that I might just as well fly to London and visit the Liberty store... It's quite a good idea, come to think of it...

Now, back to my brand new bracelet. I purchased little squares of Liberty fabric from Etsy (fifty different patterns). I selected the blue ones and had some fabric-covered buttons made (they'll be ready tomorrow), and the creams, the reds, and the pinks have just been made into this adorable little bracelet! I sewed the squares together, made a tube, filled it with wooden beads and made knots in between. I'm rather happy with the result! I think my new bracelet will get a lot of wear!

Easter Decoration

Welcome into my home! Let me give you a few peeks at our Easter decoration...

The felt chicks were hand-made by my son (the blue one), my daughter (the red one) and me (the pink one). I cut the shapes and helped the children with the sewing but basically it was their work.Aren't they adorable? The cycling hen was a gift from friends who knew exactly what I liked...
(Plus can you spot the stained glass door... I sincerely apologise for that...)

And what I like is the London-based designer Gisela Graham! She's the brain behind all these decorations (apart from the felt chicks, of course). The above wreath was absolutely too lovely to pass in the shop. I got it last year. Still love it.

This hen lives on the window sill in our bedroom. Not just at Easter. I tend to forget to put it away once the Easter period is over (at Pentecost)...

And the bunnies? Could you have left them lying in a shop? Abandoned? I couldn't.
