Tweedy Friendship

Last autumn my blogging friend Alison from Tweed Thoughts (she has a very pretty Etsy shop as well) kindly offered to make me a Harris Tweed pouch lined with Liberty Tana Lawn cotton - my two favourite types of fabric in the whole world! The prettiest pouch came in the post this morning and I couldn't be happier! Just look at this exquisite example of craftsmanship!

I really like the pattern she has chosen for my pouch, it's in the colours of the Scottish sky & soil, methinks... The Liberty fabric is a pretty floral pattern , the sort I always like looking at...

Alison was kind enough to put some additional goodies in the package - these pretty pink embroidered Harris Tweed buttons! The same day, this morning, this tweedy doll came in the post as well, which I'd ordered from her Etsy shop the other day. Plus the cream & green check Harris Tweed buttons... I mean, it's like another Christmas / birthday present!

As a little thank you I sent Alison a packet with my own crafting goodies, a necklace and a bracelet that I felted myself. I hope they will come in handy as winter accessories!

It's ever so nice to have good friends from all over the world. Particularly from Scotland...

Thank you so much once again, Alison!

Art Swap - Triple Bracelet

I have finally decided on what to send as my art swap handmade gift. It is this triple bracelet that I absolutely adore. I made a similar one for myself several years ago and practically wore it out - I don't wear it anymore because it falls apart every time I put it on and with all new projects on my mind I just don't have the energy to mend it...

The bracelet is made of three separate strands - one with green glass tubes & plastic flowers, one with pink glass beads, and one with red, orange and pink wooden beads with a burgundy satin bow. The pink bow you see on the pic just holds the trio together.

This is what the bracelet looks like worn on the wrist. Pretty, isn't it?

Apart from the bracelet, I'm adding a necklace in matching colours, made of wooden and glass beads.

And being a good girl that I am, I'm adding a packet of matching tissues.

Ana from New Zealand, I hope you like your art swap gift!

Art Swap!

Yay, I'm participating in an Art Swap, courtesy of the lovely Franca from Orangesandapples! What I need to do is make something (anything I like as long as it's handmade – I do that, you know!), find six people to do the same, and send my contribution to an address provided by Franca.

I'm asking six bloggers to participate – I'll leave a comment on your blog or send you an email. Please please please join the fun!

I've picked:

Alison from Tweed Thoughts
Janet from The Empty Nest
'Angel' from Kissed By An Angel
'Teena' from Kitschen Pink
'Teeny' from Teeny And Yet Not Teeny At All
Aileen from Aileen Clarke Crafts

Details:

STEP 1:
Make one work of art/craft and send it to the person whose name is listed under #1.

STEP 2:
Contact six other friends/bloggers and invite them to participate in this art swap. Let them know that they just need to send out one piece of art. It can be anything you can make: a little drawing, a print, a comic, a photo, a felted creation; whatever fits your niche and mood, and can be dropped in the mail within a week or two.

Once people agree to participate, delete the name and address listed on #1, replace it with #2's details ( in this case my details... ), then list your name and address under #2. Send it out as an email.

That's it! We should all have some fun!
