Exactly a year ago today I started Angels & Blossoms. Happy birthday to my little blog! On average, I've got a lovely new follower every fortnight in the past year. Thank you all! I've also passed my two-hundred-blog mark recently, so there's plenty to celebrate! Don't worry, I'm making plans... There's a giveaway in sight!

I'm celebrating my one-year-anniversary with three things that make me happy today:

- my lovely new butterfly tablecloth

- a precious little trinket box

- some pretty floral hankies

Happy birthday, Angels & Blossoms!

Exciting Giveaway At Oranges And Apples!

Yay, the lovely Franca from Orangesandapples is having 'a super exciting and wonderful giveaway' (these are her own words)! She has completed her 500th post (and going on!). There are three goody bags to be won in her giveaway, and each one is packed with lovely handmade and vintage things from various Etsy sellers! Franca is an Etsy seller herself so she knows full well how to put together an appealing goody bag...

To enter, this is what you need to do:

* Leave a comment on Franca's blog, telling her which of the three prizes you would most like. She would really appreciate any feedback you have on her blog, so that she can make the next 500 posts even better (personally, I don't think there's any need for improvement...). If you're new on her blog, or haven't commented before, please tell Franca a little bit about yourself as well - she likes to 'know' everyone!

* You get an extra entry for being a follower of Franca's blog. Please leave a SEPARATE comment saying how you follow Orangesandapples (if you do).

* You also get an extra entry for blogging or tweeting about this giveaway. And that's what I'm doing right now!

The giveaway is open for at least a couple of weeks. Good luck to everyone, including myself!

Calling Joanna!

Hi, my dear blogging friends. I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently (well, to be honest, one post). I meant to blog last Friday, as I finally got round to crafting my sweet Harris Tweed ladybird but I couldn't download the pics from my camera. There must be something wrong with my card reader. My husband was out of town for the weekend so there was no one around to help me! As soon as I sort that out I promise to post about my lovely new Tweedie Softie. It was pure joy to craft it, exactly what I needed on Friday evening!

We celebrated Palm Sunday yesterday. We traditionally bring bunches of spring flowers and pussy willow and ivy and olive tree branches to church for the blessing - I'll post about those as well once I can download the pics. For now, here's a picture of a traditional Slovenian 'butara' - shavings of wood are coloured and tied around thick branches, and it is lovely to see bursts of colour at the Palm Sunday mass!

Now let me get to the main point of today's post: I'm looking for Joanna! She was the only blogger who commented on 100th post, which makes her the absolute winner and of course the recipient of one of my bracelets. So, please, Joanna, do get in touch. Could you please post your address to my e-mail: mojca_stefanic@yahoo.com? As you do that, please state which of the two bracelets you prefer - the blue one or the blue-cream-pink one. As soon as I get your address I'll put your presie in the post!

Have a lovely week, everyone!

100th Post & Giveaway!

Yay, I'm writing my 100th blog entry today! I'm not quite sure whether this makes me a good blogger or not, as I started my blog (exactly to the day!!!) six months ago - let's just say I'm OK...

I've got a thing with living my life 'exactly to the day' - my husband and I got married seven years (exactly to the day...) after we'd started dating, and now this blog entry... I didn't plan this, honestly! And tomorrow, we will have been married for fourteen and a half years (15th wedding anniversary coming up in six months!), it will have been twenty-one and a half years after our first date (in six months' time my husband will be celebrating half of his lifetime spent with me, he was twenty-two when we came together...). So much to celebrate!!!

Which is why I'm doing another giveaway, yay! If you're interested, all you have to do is leave a comment on my blog (let it be a nice one, please...) and if there's more than one entry (... hopefully...) I'll draw a winner next Monday. I'll let you know all about it!

The prize is one of these two bracelets - once the winner is announced, you will tell me which one you prefer. They're both hand-made by me and - if you follow my blog - I'd like you to have one!

See you tomorrow, y'all!

Give-Away Update

Remember my pre-Christmas bloggiversary give-away? There were three comment entries altogether which is why I've decided to present all three of you bloggers with a little something! The goodies I'll post to you have been hand-made by me - I'll post the pics on the blog after you've received your little parcels as I don't want to spoil the surprise! Alison, Franca and Jane, thank you so much for following my blog. I really appreciate your feedback and most of all, your blogs are an inspiration for me!

P.S.: Don't worry, these are not the prizes! Just another pic of our Christmas decoration...

Christmas Crafts & First Give-Away!

I made these Christmassy ornaments in the course of the years - they're not recent work - but they always put me in a Christmas mood. They might do the same for you! Which, three days before Christmas, is not too difficult a task to achieve...

I made the snowman keyring nine years ago when I was expecting my first-born. I saw a similar item in a French magazine called 'Marie-Claire' and I totally loved it. I used to put it on my keys at Christmas for several years after that. Now it just lives in a drawer...

The tissue holder was made even earlier, I think. I can't even remember when. It's old.

The red hat was knitted by my Mum, I made the poinsettia corsage. My daughter wears it now.

The Christmas tree brooch was made last year. I got the idea from the lovely Ana of Fensismensi - hers are much more professionally looking, of course. But I quite like mine as well. I think I could list it as my first give-away presie! It's my three-month bloggiversary today and if you're interested, drop me a note in the comment section!

Enjoy the count-up to Christmas!

St Andrew's Day

I apologize for being such a lazy blogger these past few days. Time just flew by before I realised that I hadn't really updated my blog! I've been following other blogs with great interest and I've made a few comments but somehow I've forgotten to 'comment' my own! It must have something to do with my (just over) two-month bloggiversary!

Anyway, last week was nothing special in some ways and very special in others. I hardly had any outfit pictures taken - just didn't feel very imaginative - but I will show you some pics of the most lovely surprise I got from a very dear friend. She lives in the capital and we don't see each other very often but we talk on the phone and she follows my blog. Or, should I say, reads it, as she isn't registered with the blogger and can't comment on it. But, she nevertheless decided I deserved a blog award (fancy that!) and she made me a box of the most delicious sweets you can possibly imagine (have I mentioned that, apart from being a professional singer, she's one of the best cooks in the whole wide world?).

You can see the sweets on the pics: they're sweet dates with marzipan pistachio filling and fig balls with marzipan, rolled in crushed roasted hazelnuts. Just putting everything into words made my mouth water again... And to top everything off, the packaging was absolutely adorable as well! See this pretty tartan ribbon? She knows all about my love for Scotland, so there I have it! Thank you so much, R.!

The best part of the week was Friday when my Mum, my daughter and I went to Ljubljana to the book fair. My cousins (one of them writes poems for children, the other one, her sister, illustrates them) had their latest book presented at the fair. We just had to attend! And, I got some really great news - but this deserves a post on its own, definitely. There are still some things about me that I haven't yet shared with you, dear bloggers...

My outfit on Friday was similar to the one I'd last posted on the blog, but I'm afraid that you will see a lot of my lovely green coat in the following months as well... (and the boots... and the beret... and angels... and blossoms...). I think this coat is one of the best purchases I've made in my life, honestly, that's how much I appreciate it!

We had a lovely time at the book fair and a lovely 'girls' day-out' as well, we really enjoyed our time together, the three generations... The weekend was less eventful, I came down with the flu (or something similar), I spent the entire Sunday in my PJs, sleeping on the sofa. I'm all better now, though, and I promise to be a better blogger this week as well.

Last Friday I wore:
boots - Humanic
tights - Polzela (local brand)
skirt - Labod (local brand; shortened)
pink top - TwoWay
gray roll-neck - Mana
tan belt (under the scarf) - H&M
scarf - Etsy (AliceCaroline)
beret - Seeberger
corsage (on beret) - TopShop
coat - Boden
leather sporran - Heritage of Scotland (web shop)
umbrella - 'Thistle' (Scottish shop in Ljubljana), bought ages ago
angel pendant!

As far as the title goes, happy St Andrew's Day to all Scots and to my son, of course - his name is Andrej (Slovenian for 'Andrew') and it's his nameday - and yes, he got his name after the patron saint of my favourite place in the world!

Happy Bloggiversary to Orangesandapples!

Yay, I'm all excited! The lovely Franca from Orangesandapples is doing a give-away on the occasion of her 250th bloggiversary! I left a comment on her blog, as requested, and now I'm patiently waiting! I love reading Franca's blog, hers was the very first blog that I started to follow and it was because of it that I decided to start my own! I still follow her every day, I love her sense of style and I love her hand-knitted goodies from her Etsy shop. I'm sure that the parcel she'll send out to the winner will be absolutely delightful, whoever gets it!

Surprise Package!

I've been a blogger for just over a month now - yay! - and I'm really enjoying it! I hope that you, dear fellow bloggers, can find something interesting here as well, although I haven't reached further from my oufits yet; I have great plans, though!

I've decided to make a little something for a dear fellow blogger and on the pic you can see a surprise package that I've just put in the post. Once it reaches its destination, I sincerely hope to get some feedback (to know the package actually has arrived, that is). The contents of the package will be revealed later, as I don't want to spoil the surprise. I enjoyed crafting whatever's in the bag very much and - to get the cat just a little bit out of the bag - it's something I've already been blogging about. Lucky guess, anyone?
