A Winter Coat In April?

OK, I admit, this set of photos was taken a couple of weeks ago - forgotten and later rediscovered on my camera! Since I liked the outfit I'm posting it anyway. 

I have always liked mixing elegant and casual pieces, and the classic camel coat paired with a pair of floral plimsols is exactly what I have in mind when approaching the subject! It's quite cool, isn't it? I'm not quite sure I'm supposed to put that in writing, though ... :)

The indoor version of the outfit was casual from head to toe: a pair of skinny jeans and a jumper! I threw in a floral scarf and a couple of corsages for good measure!

 

I purchased these Cath Kidston plimsols last year - they're exactly the same as my Converse All Stars yet at a fraction of the price! Go figure!

I don't normally wear trousers to church on Sundays but this outfit could easily pass for my Sunday best, don't you think? It's actually quite simple but with all the accessories it still feels very 'me'. 

I was absolutely stunned when this pair of Boden Bistro Trousers arrived in the post - I had no idea that my angel bag was the perfect match. Meant to be, obviously!

Oh, and check the earrings, this hand-made lace is utterly and completely stunning. Love love love!

I hope this is one of the last coat scenes for this winter. I'm eagerly awaiting spring - the weather at this point is actually moving in the right direction! Fingers crossed ...

This was a Sunday outfit. Much liked. I'm not a big fan of black (now that's what I call an understatement!) but grey is a totally different matter. It's rather sweet when paired with red, wouldn't you say?

Five Things

I was going to do my usual "Three Things" post but with all the pretty things I got for Christmas and my birthday earlier this month I decided to add two more items to the list. There are many more lovely new things in my possession, of course / I'm afraid, but I had to draw a line somewhere ...

Another Sunday Outfit

I wore this to church last Sunday. I love the mixing of patterns - tartan & argyle, I feel oh so British! I don't really know if proper Brits actually wear such things but never mind :) As long as I'm happy ...

I can't seem to be able to get enough of my Boden brogues. They're fabulous! I want to wear them as long as possible before we get snowed in (not any time soon, pretty please!!!).

For My Girl

As promised, the yummy cake I made for my daughter's celebration. It was a Sacher cake, made by the recipe from my friend R. Deeelicious :)

I also made a batch of vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing (and  the proverbial cherry on top...). These were lovely as well.

And my little girl got some really lovely presents!

So Me

Last Sunday's outfit. It really was so me. Colours, florals, my favourite tie-front cardigan, wide leather belt, tan leather heels, oversized beads... the list could go on and on. I felt wonderful all day. Probably not only due to my attire, there was great company and lots to celebrate (my son's golden award at a piano competition, not to mention his silver archery medal won the day before; one of my godsons' confirmation; lovely warm & sunny spring day...), so - it was a day to remember.
