We Three Kings

Another wishlist item from Etsy, soon to become reality! I found this absolutely gorgeous brooch on Etsy a while ago and listed it under my favourites. Yesterday, though, someone purchased it! I was crushed... I immediately contacted the seller, Pinderella, and she was sooo kind - she had another brooch in stock and listed it reserved for me! Now I'm eagerly awaiting the postman...

Why the Three Kings, you might wonder? My birthday is January 6, the Epiphany, it's when we remember how the three wise men came to baby Jesus and brought him gifts. I really like the symbolism of this holiday which is why I'm madly in love with this brooch! Isn't it really pretty?

Check the other items from the shop, they're all really wonderful!

Good Luck, Thirty For Thirty!

Kendi's challenge starts today. Good luck to all the participants! I'd been pondering on whether to join in but decided against it in the last minute. Not quite ready yet. I was more than willing to participate in Jane's capsule wardrobe challenges which went on for a week, I was able to go through five/seven days of limited and pre-planned outfits, but a month... will have to wait. Next time, perhaps?

I'm really looking forward to following some fellow bloggers tackling the challenge, though! Tania from What Would A Nerd Wear, Kyla from Blue Collar Catwalk, E. and A. from Academichic... they're all taking part! Good luck, girls!

I'm presenting one of last week's outfits today. I love the colours! They came out rather well, if you don't mind my saying so. I'm slightly in love with this Zara (for girls) top that I got on a huge discount the other day (when purchasing a pair of corduroys for my little girl...). I like the ruffled detail at the neckline - even though this means having to skip my angel necklace!

The green floral skirt is also one of my favourites - I've had it for a few years now but every time I take it out of my closet it makes me really happy. It's a happy skirt!

Most items in this outfits are my favourites, actually. The trechcoat, the cord jacket, the skinny belt, the flats, the beret, the pashmina... why do I bother to list every single item at all? They're all favourites!

I'm wearing:

- flats - Killah
- tights - Polzela (local brand)
- skirt - Kesidov
- top - Zara (girls' range)
- cord jacket - Tom Tailor
- skinny belt - H&M
- beret - Seeberger
- angel accessories
- raspberry earrings - Michael Michaud via The National Gallery Shop

Outdoors:

- trenchcoat - Marks&Spencer
- pashmina - my Mum's
- leather bag - Zara

I'm sure I'll get lots of inspiration from the '30 For 30' participants!

Black On Friday

Yesterday's outfit. I would have posted about it last night but I went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was lovely. A bunch of childhood friends gathered at the local cafe, had a few drinks, and talked a lot. Just before midnight we felt extremely hungry. So we had some fries outside the local kebab shop... Midnight!!!

I'm wearing:

- flats - Stroll (hand-me-downs from best friend's daughter)
- fishnet knee-highs - Polzela (local brand)
- trousers - Mana
- belt - Mango
- black roll-neck - Dorothy Perkins
- coat - Boden
- beret - Seeberger
- corsage - Kesidov (gift with purchase)
- angel accessories - pendant & bag
- birdie brooch on bag - Etsy (aileenclarkecrafts)

Have a lovely Sunday!

Casual & Cycling Friendly

As promised, a casual version of Monday's outfit. Worn to the choir practice on Monday evening. I usually cycle there, even in rain (OK, light drizzle) and this turned out to be a very cycling friendly outfit. I was a bit worried the skirt might be too tight for pedalling but no such thing. Plenty of room for movement and warm enough for a chilly November evening.

I'm wearing:

- boots - Mass
- tights - Polzela (local brand)
- skirt - Boden
- black roll-neck - Dorothy Perkins
- apple green leather belt - Tom Taylor
- faux leather jacket - Madonna
- beret - Seeberger
- corsage - Accessorize
- angel accessories

I do love autumn!

I'm wearing:

- boots - Mass
- tights - Polzela (local brand)
- skirt - Boden
- black roll-neck - Dorothy Perkins
- apple green leather belt - Tom Tailor (had it for ages!)
- coat - Boden
- hat - Seeberger
- corsage - Accessorize
- angel accessories

A casual version of the same outfit tomorrow!

Hat People

I'm a hat person. Totally. I love having my head covered. Winter or summer. Spring or autumn. January through December. The only thing is, I would probably lose all my hair if I never let it out in the daylight.

Sunday outfit, worn to church and later to our family trip to visit my husband's aunts & uncles in the south-east of the country. The green coat is still a favourite of mine. I wear it a lot, which is why you get to see it a lot. I hope you don't mind. I'm still grateful to Mr Boden for my having been able to purchase the coat of my dreams...

I'm wearing:

- boots - Humanic
- tights - Polzela (local brand)
- skirt - Labod (local brand)
- top - local shop
- black roll-neck - Dorothy Perkins
- skinny belt - H&M
- coat - Boden
- pashmina - on loan from my Mum
- hat - Seeberger
- corsage - TopShop
- angel jewellery

P.S.: Self-shot in our hall. Yes, the walls are orange. No, the quality of the shot is not very good. Sorry about that.
