Wreaths

Our advent wreaths this year:

The one on the front door was made by my eight-year old daughter! I've said it before but let me do it again - congratulations, well done, K.!

And this is the one I made. There's a lovely creative workshop at my daughter's school every year just before advent starts where we gather together, mums (sometimes dads) and our children, and we make advent wreaths and Christmas decoration. These are such enjoyable afternoons, year in, year out.

We lit the second candle on Sunday. Two more to go and it's Christmas, yay!

P.S.: My first post on advent wreaths...

Making Bread

I've been making my own bread recently. Every now and then. We are particularly fond of the corn bread. Like the one above. It was rather yummy, actually. This month, though, I will most probably turn into the traditional Christmas biscuit maker. Oh, I do love this time of year. Minus the snow, of course :)

Of Birds & Bikes... And Hats!

An outfit from before we had all the snow... Still falling, I'm afraid. It was nice, though, while it lasted, the lovely warm autumn weather. I'm not particularly fond of snow, to put it mildly. I'm all ready for spring. The unfortunate fact is, winter has only just begun...

Outfit details:

- shoes - Tamaris
- tights - closet (old)
- skirt - ek jeans
- top - gif from my Mum
- blazer - Ness (spring sale - I completely adore it!)
- hat - Seeberger
- suede bag - my Mum's
- thistle brooch - Scottish shop in the capital (ancient!)
- Harris Tweed Bird brooch - Etsy (AileenClarkeCrafts)
- bike necklace - Etsy (rockcakes)

Have a lovely weekend (and try not to get snowed in...)!

St Nick's

Were you all good boys and girls?
Did you get any presents?

We got our plates out on the dining room table last night - family tradition! They were full of yummy goodies in the morning - and some toys for the little ones...  My girl made a cup of coffee for St Nick, put some chocolate on a plate, drew him a picture and left a note. The cup was empty in the morning and there were chocolate wrappings on the plate. St Nick said 'Thank you'! :)

Tweedy Christmas

Oooh, I just have to share this, it's absolutely precious! All these yummy tweedy decorations are made by my blogging friend Alison from Tweed Thoughts - wouldn't you love to have this Christmas pudding hanging from your tree? I definitely would!

And the birds! All of them!

A gorgeous soft cushion, perhaps?
Not hanging from the tree, of course...

A croft house tweedy pouch?
For the phone? Or the camera?

Or a sweet little stocking?

The choice is yours!
Have a happy month of December!

St Andrew's

A very happy St Andrew's Day
to all my Scottish friends and,
of course,
to my darling boy on the feast of his patron saint!

Done!

Just a quick hello and another apology for the lack of posting - I had to finish an urgent translating job, and it's done! It was an exhausting philosophical text so I didn't really have the energy to write about outfits and crafting...

The pictures are a lovely reminder of this year's summer holiday - we went hiking to our mountains with a group of friends. The views were breathtaking, the company was beyond enjoyable, and I won't even mention the food!
